Kansai Gaidai Internship Program Launched

The Kansai Gaidai Internship Program is offered for its international students during the summer. This is a real life experience in Japanese business firms and local schools. In many cases, internships offered in Japan are more focused on visiting/touring company sites and listening to explanations. The KGIP is different. It involves actual tasks, and thus interns are fully integrated in the daily operations of those firms. The list of sites includes major manufacturing companies, banks and securities firms, IT companies, hotels and local schools.

The KGIP starts immediately after the spring semester ends in late May. Thus, the spring semester participants are eligible. These internships are unpaid.

Special preparatory seminars are offered to help students develop their understanding as to what to expect during the internship and on Japanese business etiquette in order to facilitate a smooth transition. For most of the business internships, the host companies expect a high level of Japanese.

Upon successful completion of the internship, Kansai Gaidai credits may be awarded according to the academic regulations. Students may also receive credits from their home institutions

This is a rare opportunity to develop deep insight into business firm operations, though a strong commitment and hard work are expected from students. Make your resume impressive with this invaluable internship experience.
