"Fostering the Next Generation of Global Citizens" to strengthen the future of Asia and the Japanese government's "Plan for Accepting 300,000 International Students."
The ASEAN plus Three: University Consortium has been planned in line with the declared “Plan for accepting 300,000 International Students to Japan” by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology-Japan.
The basic idea of Kansai Gaidai’s plan is to welcome more students from "ASEAN+3" areas and to foster what we call "The Next Generation of Global Citizens" who have acquired competence in understanding Asian cultures and languages. Currently, Kansai Gaidai University has 330 affiliated universities in 50 countries and regions (as of the end of March, 2009). In the future, we would like to build wider and deeper relationships, especially with universities in Asia. We will offer programs with emphasis on "classes taught in English" and "obtaining dual degrees" from a student’s home institution and a host institution.
