    Main Administration Building

    The 11-story Main Administration Building stands directly in front of the main gate. It houses the university's core facilities such as its corporate office and administrative offices, as well as faculty offices, graduate school facilities, and a convention hall, serving as a place that facilitates creative research activities.

    Central Garden

    The Central Garden, situated in front of the Main Administration Building, stretches 170 meters long and 80 meters wide. Its centerpiece is a fountain located at the main entrance, which is 18 meters in diameter. The fountain features three adjustable water flow levels, and an underwater lighting system that synchronizes beautifully with the fountain.

    The 65th Anniversary Monument was completed in December 2010. It is made of granite and the raised English letters of the university's name are inlaid with bright blue glass. The code of conduct for Kansai Gaidai students can be found inscribed upon it.

    Buildings 1 and 2 are located on the west and east sides of the Main Administration Building. Both are designed with small classrooms ideal for language education and are outfitted with audiovisual equipment and sound-absorbing materials.

    Each building features a uniquely themed courtyard representing one of five continents, allowing natural light to flow in from both exterior and courtyard-facing windows, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. Additionally, sensors that detect daylight levels and automatically adjust the brightness of rooms have been installed to conserve energy.

    An Airline Training Room and a Hotel Training Room can be found on the 1st floor of Classroom Building 1, where students aiming for careers as cabin crew or in the tourism industry can learn in an environment that closely simulates a real workplace. A Starbucks Coffee is also located on this floor.

    Tanimoto Memorial Hall

    This large hall has a seating capacity of 2,000 people, with 1,566 seats on the 1st floor and 434 on the 2nd floor. It is fully equipped with theatrical and audiovisual systems and can be used for ceremonies, lectures, concerts, and theatrical performances. On both the 1st and 2nd floors near the entrance, the Memorial Hall showcases historical documents from Kansai Gaidai and commemorative items from our partner institutions overseas.

    Located west of the Central Garden, this imposing structure stretches 110 meters in length. It features a three-story atrium entrance hall and a 3rd-floor reading room with a high ceiling, making it a central hub well-suited for education and research.

    The Library & Media Center offers library, data, and audiovisual facilities all in one place to ensure easy information access and management. The library boasts a collection of approximately 425,000 volumes (213,000 in Japanese and 212,000 in foreign languages) and also houses Learning Commons facilities.

    In addition to facilities such as the Multimedia Hall and computer labs, a VR (virtual reality) practice room named "Hello, World." was completed in 2022.

    International Communication Center (ICC)

    This newly constructed 4-story building on the west side of the main gate serves as a hub for international exchange. It is designed as a space for the creation and development of new styles of education, open to both the local community and the world.

    This sunlight-filled building features a wooden terrace courtyard and glass-walled classrooms, creating a bright and expansive atmosphere. It houses various research facilities and centers, as well as seminar rooms, distance learning rooms, conference rooms, music classrooms, science laboratories, home economics rooms, and the 200-seat capacity ICC.

    Completed in September 2013, the building features a central courtyard inspired by terraced rice fields, with a 4-story atrium to maximize natural light. It houses classrooms as well as the Career Center on the 1st and basement floors, providing an open environment in which to support students in their job search.

    Nakamiya Gymnasium (Building 9)

    The Nakamiya Gymnasium (Building 9) [top] and the Student Club Building (Building 8) [bottom] are located on the north side of the campus. On the 1st floor of the Gymnasium, there are Karate and Shorinji Kempo dojos, boxing and judo training spaces, as well as showers.

    On the 2nd floor is a regulation-size arena for volleyball and basketball games, while a kendo dojo occupies part of the 3rd floor. In the Student Club Building you'll find offices for the Student Union, Student Council, Athletic Association, and Cultural Association, as well as Student Club Building Hall, Japanese style rooms, club rooms, meeting rooms, and music practice rooms. The Student Club Building has 83 rooms and the Gymnasium has 12 for a total of 95 rooms.

    Student Services Center (North)

    In the center of the Student Services Center (North) building is a semi-open space with a 28-meter-diameter round glass skylight, embedded with photovoltaic cells. The round, sunlit stage is used for a wide variety of events, such as musical performances, and the surrounding grand staircase provides seating for large audiences.

    On the east side of the Center is Cafeteria 1 (approx. 600 seats). On the 2nd floor of the Center is a convenience store, with a wide selection of items and a travel counter for trip consultations, along with Cafeteria 2 (approx. 100 seats). The 3rd floor features a bookstore and a relaxing student lounge, making it popular with students.

    Student Services Center (South)

    1,203.52m²|2 stories above ground

    Located in the southwest part of the campus, the Student Services Center (South) is a two-story circular cafeteria offering light meals and beverages, with approximately 290 seats on the 1st floor and approximately 90 on the 2nd floor. It is surrounded by trees and plants, allowing students to enjoy pleasant views of lush greenery and seasonal flowers through its windows.

    Athletics Stadium

    The Athletics Stadium, located on the west edge of the campus, spans 10,137 square meters. The outermost lane is a 333-meter wood chip track designed for low-impact running, while the four inner lanes are surfaced with polyurethane.

    This all-weather field, outfitted with long-pile artificial turf and full lighting, is used by teams such as the Women's Ekiden (long-distance road relay) Club and the Track and Field Club.

    Ecological
    Campus

    All of the buildings on campus are designed to utilize as much natural light and ventilation as possible. State-of-the-art systems for conserving energy and protecting the environment are employed for heat sources, lighting, air conditioning, and water usage. Designed with sustainability in mind, the facilities and materials used reflect a profound consideration of both environmental protection and energy conservation, resulting in an ecological campus.

    Through a joint research project with the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO), Kansai Gaidai installed a photovoltaic power generation system on the Nakamiya Campus,

    which won the 7th New Energy Foundation Chairman Award for FY 2002.

    This award recognizes outstanding achievements in the development and implementation of new energy systems.

    Tanimoto
    Greenfield

    The 1st ground and 2nd ground at the Nakamiya Campus underwent a complete replacement of their clay surfaces with artificial turf in July 2023. They were renamed "Tanimoto Greenfield" in October of the same year. Both fields are used by the rugby club, American football club, and soccer club for official matches and regular practice, as well as for classes. During their free time, students can also enjoy playing American football and soccer with friends.
