Student Support

University life is vastly different from life up through high school as it becomes necessary to take initiative and face challenges on your own. At the same time, during your time at university, you may experience anxiety or encounter issues you cannot resolve on your own. Kansai Gaidai has a counseling system in place that allows students to consult with academic advisors, the Student Counseling Office, and club presidents and tutors. Faculty and staff are committed to supporting students by helping them with any issues they are having and offering them guidance.

Academic Advisors

Full-time faculty members serve as academic advisors to students. Students who wish to consult with an academic advisor should contact their academic advisor in advance and may receive counseling either in the advisor's office or at a location specified by the advisor.

Student Counseling Office

Student Counseling Office

The Student Counseling Office is here to support you in your university life and provide assistance whenever it is needed. We encourage you to consult with a counselor to address and resolve any issues, worries, concerns, or anxieties that may arise during your time at university.

Counseling is also provided for faculty and staff. Support is available for a variety of issues both on and off campus, including the balancing of life events like childbirth and childrearing with teaching and research responsibilities.

*All consultations are kept strictly confidential.

Student Counseling Office Newsletter

The Student Counseling Office Newsletter is written by counselors from the Student Counseling Office.
It includes seasonal advice and brief psychology columns.

Club President and Tutor System

A system is in place at Kansai Gaidai where official athletic clubs have presidents, while official cultural clubs and circles have tutors, with faculty and staff serving in these roles. These presidents and tutors act as advisors who understand the issues and concerns unique to clubs and circles and help to facilitate the independent management of extracurricular activities.

Student Affairs Committee

A university must constantly adapt to the changing currents of society.

However, these changes can affect student life. This is why the university has created the Student Affairs Committee to offer comprehensive counseling and support.

The committee is composed of full-time faculty members appointed by the Faculty Council.

Student Affairs

Student Affairs

Student Affairs serves as the contact point on campus for matters directly related to student life, including general administration, student benefits, welfare, extracurricular activities, and external affairs.

The full-time staff here, like academic advisors, act as helpful sources of guidance for students' individual concerns.

Support for Students with Disabilities

To accommodate students with physical disabilities, we provide facilities and equipment such as elevators, accessible toilets, automatic doors, ramps, handrails, wheelchairs, designated parking spaces, braille blocks, and cut-out tables. We also provide accommodations to ensure students can eat, change clothes, or rest as needed.

In terms of educational considerations, as every student's disability varies, the responsible office provides support on a case-by-case basis after discussing and confirming each student's needs.

For students with not only physical but also mental or developmental disabilities who wish to discuss issues related to their student life, please contact Student Affairs.
