外大通信デジタルブック

12関西外大は2018年1月現在、米国、カナダ、オーストラリアなど25カ国・地域から306人の外国人留学生を受け入れています。本学の学生にとって、留学生との交流は教室の外で楽しく英語を学ぶ絶好の機会となっています。交流通し英語を楽しく学ぶ　米フロリダアトランティック大学出身のエリザベス・クシュマさんら留学生４人は昨年11月中旬、京都市東山区の清水寺を訪れ、シーズン真っ盛りの紅葉を楽しみました。　案内したのは、関西外大の通訳ガイドクラブ。クラブ員たちは英語力を高めるため、毎月１回、清水寺の境内で外国人観光客を相手にボランティアのガイドを行っており、この日は、部長の中村賢哉君（外国語学部英米語学科2年）らが応対しました。　仁王門から本堂へと巡りながら、クラブ員たちは、1200年余りの歴史をもつ清水寺の由来や、本尊の「清水の観音さん」こと、十一面千手観世音菩薩などについて説明しました。　留学生たちは、ユネスコの世界文化遺産「古都京都の文化財」のひとつとして登録された寺院の威容に魅了された様子で、木々があかく色づいた音羽山を散策しながらクラブ員たちとすっかり打ち解けていました。留学生に感想を英語で寄せてもらいました。エリザベス・クシュマさん（ 米フロリダアトランティック大学）The trip was full with interesting historical b ackground a ndtreasurable memories. Memories like picking up an oversized andvery heavy steel pole that is called a Shakujou, or a monk’s staff,together with my friend Rebecca. Including the times everyone justchatted and hung out together. I personal feel that the trip was agreat way to make friends and learn more about Japan.レベカ・カソランさん（ スペイン・バルセロナ自治大学）The visit to the temple of Kiyomizu-dera has been very fun andinteresting. Japanese students explained the history of the templeand together we admired the momiji. Thanks to this opportunity Iwas able to practice Japanese while learning about the history ofJapan. My favorite part about the trip was the ability to make newfriends and learn together, especially with my friend Ellie.マシアス・マルティン君（ メキシコ・モンテレイ工科大学）I had a lovely time in Kiyomizu-dera! The students that guided usdid a superb job as well.
