International transfer students under ASEAN+3 program, Meeting with Presidents

2010/2/10

On 10 February 2010, the group of 5 international transfer students under the ASEAN+3 University Consortium Program gathered to meet with Board of Trustees President Eiko Tanimoto and KGU President Yoshitaka Tanimoto. These 5 students entered the College of Foreign Studies – School of English Language and Communication on 1 February 2010, and started studying in the Asian Studies Program of Center of International Education including Japanese language courses.

Thoughts such as ‘since we can learn both Japanese and English at Kansai Gaidai, it is ‘killing two birds with one stone’’; ‘it is an honor to have this opportunity’; ‘I would like to acquire Spanish capability as well, and then go to countries like Spain, Mexico, Ecuador.’; ‘I would like to acquire business English’; . . . etc. were shared by the students, and from the university side there was a warm welcome and encouragement to the students as ‘pioneers’ and the promise of support for fruitful academic life.
