Agreement with an Indonesian university ASEAN plus Three: University Consortium

An Indonesian university joined the ASEAN plus Three: University Consortium, which began by the proposal of Kansai Gaidai University (KGU), and the agreement was signed with KGU. The consortium participating nation became 6 countries: Japan, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, the Kingdom of Thailand, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of Indonesia.

Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU) in Salatiga in central Java has concluded an agreement. Dr. John. A. Titaley, the President of SWCU, exchanged letters with Yoshitaka Tanimoto, the President of KGU, and signed the agreement. Prof. Yasunori Kojima, the Director of the Asia Pacific Center and Dr. Hiroyuki Toyota, Associate Professor of Sociology, visited SWCU and received the Consortium agreement on 4th November. SWCU will start a network of programs with KGU and other participating universities in the future.

SWCU is a Christian university with 13,000 students, and all classes in the Department of English are taught in English. As for an interchange with KGU, SWCU wishes to participate in a dual degree program and one-semester or two-semester study in the Asian Study Program. As a start, a short-term the Indonesian language and cultural field program is being planned.
