Kansai Gaidai Internship Program leads to Intercultural Communication Event

The event, which allowed high school students from Osaka Prefectural Shijonawate High School and our exchange students to deepen cross-cultural understanding, was held at ICC (International Communication Center) on the Nakamiya Campus on September 17.

It seemed like both exchange students and Japanese students were nervous in the beginning but as they played icebreaker games, they felt much comfortable asking questions and giving their own opinions freely.

After lunch, they played “Marshmallow Tower Game”, where each team competed to build the tallest tower using marshmallows and 20 sticks of pasta. The winning team built a 50-cm (1’7”) tower.

The event was first held last year in connection with the “Kansai Gaidai Internship Program” for exchange students.
Since the “Kansai Gaidai Internship Program” was launched last year, mny of our vibrant exchange students have taken part in internships at many workplaces including corporations from all different fields as well as high schools in the Kansai area since “Global Internship Program” launched last year. The program is popular among exchange students as well as many workplaces as the program provides great opportunities to deepen cultural understanding.
