Hello friends, my name is Gülgün and I am from Turkey. I want to introduce you to some snacks we eat here.

These snacks are very traditional and people in Turkey have been producing and consuming these snacks for hundreds of years.
The one on the left upper corner is called “firik”, a fresh and soft version of this snack is only available for a short period of time. People often wrap it with almonds or walnuts in before eating it. There is also the dried version which can be stored for several years. The dried version is crisp and eaten as chips. It is a very addictive snacks, I really can’t stop eating it but that's ok, for the three most important three ingredients of firik are yogurt, wheat and thyme, which are very healthy. Last but not least, if you put these chips in a pan and add water in it, you can make the soup called “tarhana çorbası” which is a traditional Turkish soup. It is such a versatile snack!
The other three snacks are dried peaches, dried plums and dried frigs. These are really easy snacks to prepare: you just let the fruits dry under the sun! After 3-4 days, you can store these summer fruits through the whole winter and enjoy eating them with your family!!
