学生の皆さんへ

昨今、ChatGPTに代表される生成AIは急速に普及し、その利用は文書、画像や音声等の生成において利便性や生産性の向上に寄与するだけでなく、人間のさまざまな能力をさらに発揮させる可能性があります。一方で、各種メデイアで報道されている通り、生成AIの利用にはさまざま問題を引き起こすので、細心の注意を払ってこれを利用する必要があります。
本学における学修の目的は、外国語運用能力の向上を図り、外国語による諸外国の文化、歴史等を理解し、異なる文化や価値観を受け入れる受容力や、客観的かつ論理的な思考力や判断力、課題を発見し解決する能力、そして国際社会に貢献する力を身につけることです。
したがって、生成AIの出力をそのまま用いてレポートや論文を作成し、自分自身の成果物にすることは、本学の学修の目的につながらないために不適切な利用方法となります。重要なことは、生成AIによって生成された文章等の正確性、論旨の展開方法、そして表現方法等をこれまで培った自らの専門的な知識、思考力、判断力等を用いて考察、分析、そして検討することによって、本学が求める能力をさらに高めることです。
そこで、学生の皆さんが生成AIを利用する際に、ぜひ留意していただきたい点を以下にまとめましたので、これらを十分に理解した上で利用してください。
なお、この基本方針は2023年11月10日までの情報をもとに作成していますので、今後、変更することがあります。

・生成AIの利用の明示について
生成AIによって生成された文章等をレポートや論文にそのまま利用すると剽窃とみなされることがあります。したがって、これらの文章等を利用する場合には、生成AIの種類と利用した箇所等をレポートや論文に明記してください。

・生成AIで生成された内容の信憑性について
生成AIによって生成された文章等には、特定の意図をもった偽情報や不正確あるいは矛盾する内容が含まれている可能性があります。よって、必ず自らの責任でその信憑性を確認してください。

・著作権の尊重について
生成AIによって生成された文章等の中に他の人の著作物の内容（同一でも類似しても）が含まれている場合、そのまま利用すると既存の著作物に係る権利を侵害する可能性がありますので、留意してください。

・個人情報等の流出について
生成AIに個人情報や機密性の高い情報を入力すると流出・漏洩することがあります。故に、これらの情報は決して生成AIに入力しないでください。

Basic Policy on the Use of Generative AI

Dear Students,

In recent times, generative AI, exemplified by ChatGPT, has rapidly gained popularity. Its use in creating documents, images, and audio not only contributes to increased convenience and productivity but also holds the potential to enhance various human capabilities. However, as reported in various media, the use of generative AI can pose several problems, thus necessitating careful utilization.

The objective of academic pursuit at our university is to enhance foreign language skills; understand foreign cultures, histories, etc., through these languages; and develop the capacity to accept different cultures and values. It also aims at fostering abilities to think and judge objectively and logically, to identify and solve problems, and the capability to contribute to the international community.

Consequently, using AI-generated content verbatim for reports or papers and submitting it as one's own work is inappropriate as it does not align with the educational goals of our institution. It is crucial to use your specialized knowledge as well as thinking and judgment skills to scrutinize, analyze, and evaluate the accuracy, development of arguments, and expressions in AI-generated content. This approach will further enhance the abilities our university seeks to cultivate.

Below are key points we urge all students to keep in mind when using generative AI:

Disclosure of Generative AI Use
Using content directly generated by AI in reports or papers may be considered plagiarism. Therefore, if you use such content, please explicitly mention the type of generative AI used and the sections where it was applied.

Credibility of AI-Generated Content
Content generated by AI might contain false information, inaccuracies, or inconsistencies with specific intentions. It is your responsibility to verify the credibility of such information.

Respect for Copyright
Please be cautious when using AI-generated content as it may include elements of others' works (whether identical or similar) and may infringe on existing copyright laws.

Risk of Data Breach Involving Personal and Confidential Information
Inputting personal or confidential information into generative AI may lead to data leaks or breaches. Therefore, never input such sensitive information into generative AI.

Note: This policy is based on information available until November 10, 2023 and may be subject to future amendments.
