IEP | A Webinar on Career Design by an Alumnus

Oct 23, 2020 (Fri.)

The Intercultural Engagement Program offers more than interactions between our local students and international students – it also provides our local students with opportunities to hear from our alumni.

On September 17, 2020, Mr. Yuzuki Kunitaka, an entrepreneur currently residing in Tokyo, shared his university life and career path after graduation in the first webinar titled “Career Talk.”

Yuzuki worked for a pharmaceutical company after graduation but left the company after a few years. His aspiration to introduce and expand Aquaponics made him start his own company, Mondoworks. Aquaponics is a new style farming method which combines conventional aquaculture with hydroponics. He first learned about it when he was studying in the Netherlands as an exchange student.

Yuzuki shared his thoughts and experience by giving students useful advice such as how to cope with difficulties and uncertainties. Students appeared to be inspired by his talk. “His talk changed my way of thinking. I will be ready to take action when I wish to start something new,” said Ami Yokomichi, a student of the College of International Professional Development, and further commented “I now know that my motivation will increase if I work hard.”
