1) WHAT FACILITIES ARE AVAILABLE?
All rooms of Residence Hall, GLOBAL COMMONS 結 -YUI- are single occupancy. Room Facilities: Desk, Closet, Bed (Bedding including pillow and sheets will be provided), Air conditioner, Refrigerator (45L), Telephone (Possible to receive domestic and international phone calls. If you wish to make a phone call, you need to use the public phones.)
YUI has kitchen with some kitchen utensils, dining rooms, living rooms on each floor and study rooms (computer rooms).
2) CAN I USE THE INTERNET FROM MY ROOM?
Yes, you can connect your own computer to the internet from your room free of charge. Please note that you need to register your laptop computer via the online registration website. The information on how you register your laptop computer will be provided upon your arrival.
3) SHOULD I BRING TOWELS AND BED LINENS?
Bed linens are provided by Kansai Gaidai. We have a linen cleaning service every 14 days. We do not provide any towels, so you should bring those.
4) ARE THERE ANY ACCOMMODATIONS AVAILABLE DURING THE BREAKS?
Yes, our Residence Hall stays open during the breaks for those whose extension of stay to next semester has been approved. Homestay arrangements will not be made during these periods.
5) CAN I STAY IN THE RESIDENCE HALL BEFORE/AFTER THE SEMESTER?
No. Residence Hall will only be available from the first day of our set arrival dates until the deadline date for moving out of accommodations. Please see the academic calendar for specific dates.
6) CAN FRIENDS OR FAMILY STAY OVERNIGHT AT RESIDENCE HALL WHEN THEY VISIT ME?
No. Since the Residence Hall is only for those students officially admitted to live there, guests cannot stay overnight at any Residence Hall.
Guests can visit residents from 9:00am to 9:30pm in the lounge and residents' rooms. For more detailed regulations, please read the Residence Hall Rules and Regulations.
7) IF I HAVE PROBLEMS, WHOM SHOULD I CONTACT?
You can contact Housing staff members at the Center for International Education. Or if you just have simple questions about facilities or services at the Residence Hall, you can contact housing staff members or Resident Assistants, who are living in the Residence Hall with you.
For emergencies at night, contact housing staff members or Resident Assistants at the Residence Hall.
