All medications containing stimulants are prohibited in Japan. This includes Adderall which is a standard medication used to treat ADHD symptoms in the USA. Adderall contains amphetamine, which is a strictly controlled substance in Japan.

In some cases, the medicines used in your country may not be available in Japan because they are unapproved or banned in Japan. We strongly recommend that you consult with your doctor in advance to obtain alternative medicines that are available in Japan.

Concerta/コンサータ (Methylphenidate Hydrochloride)

Intuniv/インチュニブ (Guanfacine Hydrochloride)

Strattera/ストラテラ (Atomoxetine Hydrochloride)

Vyvanse /ビバンセ (Lisdexamfetamine Mesilate)

  • As for “Concerta” and “Vyvanse”, only certified physicians are allowed to prescribe these medicines.
  • Regarding the capacity of medicines, the maximum capacity in your country may be different from the maximum capacity in Japan.
